Harold Melvin's Blue Notes Community Involvement

In addition to contributing to an annual Harold Melvin Music Scholarship to a musically gifted high school student, the Blue Notes:

  1. Raised funds totaling over $3 million for 9/11 and received the New York City Civic Award from the city of New York;
  2. Raised funds totaling over $1 million for Katrina victims; Prepared over 3,000 meals for the homeless in Washington, DC;
  3. Volunteered with the Washington, DC Food Kitchen for the homeless;
  4. Traveled with Jennifer Granholm during her campaign for Governor of Michigan;
  5. Performed at a benefit for “Children in Trouble” in Detroit, MI (Rev. Sheffield’s project)
